Pegasus Community Centre

Opened in mid 2017 to meet the growing needs of the Pegasus community, in mid 2019 the centre expanded to include more meeting space and the capacity to host more than one booking at a time. Located at the heart of the Pegasus township the centre features one large room with an adjoining foyer, large and small meeting room, a book exchange and two kitchenettes and multiple accessible toilets. With a variety of bookable spaces that can be used separately or combined plus and plenty of parking directly around the centre makes it a thriving space for community activities, meetings and networking.

A key can be signed for and collected from 215 High Street Rangiora with parking at the rear of the building off Percival Street. Return of the key is required at the conclusion of your booking. We are open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm aside from public holidays. We cannot guarantee the availability of staff to access keys after hours. At the conclusion of your booking, please ensure the venue is secure.

The Infinity Foyer is a shared space for users of the venue - exclusive use is not available. The Pegasus Community Centre Sub Committee coordinate a group of volunteers who staff the centre during the hours below. During these times, the public have access to free books and jigsaws via our Community Book Cave and can access information about Pegasus and the surrounding areas. There is also a wide range of information on local community and social services available to support our community.

​​​Justice-of-the-Peace (JP) Sessions Drop-in sessions are held at the Community Centre on the first and third Saturday of each month from 10.00–11.00am.

We’re pleased to let you know that construction of the new Pegasus Community Centre is now underway. This modern facility will replace the existing venue and is scheduled for completion by November 2026.

To ensure a smooth transition, your current bookings will be automatically transferred to the new facility once it opens. You won’t need to take any action, our team will handle the details and confirm with you closer to the opening date any details you may need to know.

Bookings for the new facility will be available via the Council’s online booking system in due course, and we’ll notify you as soon as that goes live.
