Woodend Community Centre
Description
Reopened in April 2013 after repairs and extension, the centre is a popular multi-purpose facility located just off the main highway in Woodend. Featuring two large meeting rooms with installed AV which can be combined into a double size room, a catering kitchen and basket ball court size sports hall with mezzanine viewing area.
The center is a busy hub for community activity, providing a versatile space for community groups, meetings, functions, events, a wide variety of sporting activity and a popular annual flower show.
Accessibility access excluding mezzanine, with car parking around the building, additional street parking nearby. The Reserve across the road can be utilized for expandable parking for large events. A separate reserve booking & parking plan is required. Keys can be collected from the Rangiora Service Centre 215 High Street, Rangiora Opening hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm aside from public holidays.

The Sport Hall is full basketball size court with limited run off. There is a large mezzanine viewing area over looking the court. Plus female & male changing facilities with a hot shower.
Shared kitchen facility are available to hirers
There is a portable stage available for hire through the online booking system which was donated by the Woodend Community Association. Please allow enough set up and pack up time if you wish to book this and ensure you read through the set up instructions available on this page above. The combinable meeting rooms are divided by a sound proofing divider. Room A is located furthest from the front entrance and has the lower ceiling out of the two meeting rooms. The room includes an installed screen and projector plus a sound system with a wireless mic and corded mic. The sound system control cabinet for both rooms is housed in room A. Ample chairs on trolleys and wheeled tables are available around the facility. Meeting Room A measures 9.9m (w) x 10m (l) x 2.4m (h – projector)
